Next Day Morning drive to Mihintale mountain peak which is believed by Sri Lankans to be the site of a meeting between the Buddhist monk Mahinda and King Devanampiya Tissa which inaugurated the presence of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. It is now a pilgrimage site and the site of several religious monuments and abandoned structures.
After the visit, Mihintale mountain peak reaches Kanniya Hot Springs situated in Trincomalee. There are seven wells in a square shape. Wells are only 3–4 feet deep and you can clearly see the bottom. The islands are an ideal place for snorkelling, surrounded by coral reefs and soft coral which are home to many different types of fish, including Blacktip Reef Shark, and several species of endangered marine turtle, including Hawksbill, Green and Olive Ridley.

The other side is home to many dramatic rock formations close to the surface and has deeper water – here you can find marine turtles and blacktip reef sharks swimming below the fish which stay close to the surface.
